Your AI,
on a real phone number.

Varta answers your calls in your voice, in Hindi, English or the mix you actually speak. It knows who your contacts are, reads the messages you'd have had to open, and hands you a summary when you're free. Over a regular GSM number you already own.

Every call opens by saying it's recorded and AI-assisted.

The platform

A phone agent that holds its end of the conversation.

Most voice bots fail on the second turn. Varta is built around the parts that make turn three work: who is calling, what they asked before, and what the agent is allowed to do about it.

Answers in your voice

Clone your voice once. Callers hear you — until the agent tells them it isn't, which it does on every call.

Speaks how you speak

Hindi, English, and the Hinglish in between. Code-switching mid-sentence is the normal case here, not an edge case.

Knows your people

Contacts sync in, so “Mom” and “my landlord” resolve to actual humans with actual history — not strings in a prompt.

Reads your messages

“Did Rahul send the PDF?” gets answered on the call, from WhatsApp, without you opening anything.

Interrupts like a person

Barge-in is handled at the audio layer. Talk over it and it stops, the way someone who's listening would.

Carries your tools

MCP servers plug straight in — calendar, Jira, Kubernetes, your own. The agent uses them mid-call.

Runs on your hardware

Your GSM gateway, your SIMs, your SIP trunk, your bill. Or ours. The platform doesn't care which.

Runs with nothing cloud

Swap in local Whisper, Piper and Ollama and the whole pipeline works offline. Some calls shouldn't leave the building.

Under it

Real telephony, not a web widget.

Audio arrives over AudioSocket from Asterisk as raw frames — the same path a PBX has used for twenty years. That's why it works on a landline forward, a GSM gateway, and a SIP trunk without a different product for each.

Every provider in the chain is swappable. Deepgram or a local Whisper. Cartesia or Piper. GPT or an Ollama model on a box in your office.

Varta for Android

Your machines, from your pocket.

The app is the other half. Agent calls arrive as real calls — lock-screen answer, Bluetooth, car audio — because it registers with Android's telecom stack instead of drawing its own dialer. And when a coding agent on your desk needs a decision, you make it from wherever you are.

  • Answer agent calls from the lock screen
  • Approve or stop what your agents are doing
  • A 4B model on the phone itself, for when there's no signal

How it works

Three steps, then it's just your phone.

01

Point a number at us

Forward your existing number, plug in a GSM gateway with your own SIM, or take a SIP trunk. Whichever you already have.

02

Tell it how to behave

Pick a voice, write a few lines about who you are and what it should never agree to, connect WhatsApp and your calendar.

03

Stop answering unknown numbers

It picks up, handles what it can, and leaves you a transcript and a summary. You get pulled in only when it matters.

Questions

The ones people actually ask.

Do I have to give up my regular number?+

No. Varta takes a forwarded copy of your call, or answers a dedicated SIM you put in the gateway. The number you hand out every day keeps working exactly as it does now.

Where does the AI actually run?+

Speech recognition runs on our own GPUs in India. Language model calls go to OpenAI and voice synthesis to Cartesia unless you configure local providers, in which case nothing leaves your hardware. Call audio is encrypted at rest and is never used to train shared models.

Is recording calls legal in India?+

Single-party consent is generally sufficient under Indian law, and Varta announces at pickup that the call is recorded and AI-assisted. If your use case sits under sectoral rules — lending, insurance, healthcare — the additional consent is yours to collect.

Is this for businesses or individuals?+

Individuals first: founders, freelancers and professionals who miss calls they'd rather not. Team and business workflows come after the beta.

What does it cost?+

The beta is free with a soft cap around 500 minutes a month, which keeps the onboarding queue honest. Paid plans arrive at general availability, and beta users will be told well before anything changes.

What happens to my data if I leave?+

Delete your account and the recordings, transcripts and contacts go with it. There's a form for exactly that, and it doesn't route through a support conversation first.

We onboard a few people a week.

Not scarcity theatre — each account needs a number provisioned and a voice set up, and we'd rather do that properly than leave you with a bot that embarrasses you on a real call.
